A fabulous masquerade ball was held at Mount Murray raising over £20,000 for Hospice Isle of Man. The event, supported by Barclays Wealth. was attended by nearly 200 people. The scene was set by a stunning ice sculpture of a mask expertly made by Ice Mann’s Darren Jackson and Stephanie Quayle. The table plan had also been set in ice! Expertly compered by Dot Tilbury MBE and Geoff Corkish MBE the evening also provided the opportunity for the first ever Flash Mob on the island! Masquerade was choreographered by Alison Lodge and Sonya Quayle. Over 24 of the guests had taken part in the secret rehearsals over the previous few weeks and definitely stunned all the other guests with their ‘surprise’ party piece. There was a wide selection of auction and raffle prizes including a bespoke art piece of a car bonnet. The artist Shelby Sandyford-Skyes explained there are only 10 of them on sale on the Island. PR and Marketing Manager for Hospice, Mary Doyle thanked Shelby for her unusual donation particularly as Shelby had won the Archibold Knox Award for Manx Inspired art 2011 |
